I really enjoyed the opportunity to photograph this amazing couple on their wedding day. It was a mild January day, so we were able to get out in the yard for some fun photos before guests arrived.
I loved the challenge of working in a smaller space. In addition to myself, there was also a videographer with lots of equipment right there with me. It was an extra challenge to make it appear as though he was actually not there and maintain pleasing compositions. Also, the light in the room was kept dark, intentionally; lit by candles and Christmas lights. I realized right away that popping too much flash was going to wash out the quiet mood of the ceremony; an atmosphere important to the bride and groom. I enjoyed the balancing act of flash vs. ambient light with the slightest pop of flash to make the bride and groom shine.
