I've been seeing sunny, hazy shots plastered all over my favorite sites. It's really difficult to get the look in post processing and have it appear natural. The best way is to capture the mood in camera. I noticed the sun around 6ish last night and made usual announcment of, "Who can give me 10 minutes"? No surprise. In runs the "Ham" asking if he can cut a deal with some Smarties. Done.
I found a spot in the yard where he could be shaded with even light, but the sunlight is pouring in from directly behind him. You get an overexposed, washed out image, but if you build up your shadows in Lightroom, you can recover some contrast. After that, I ran Florabella Classic Workflow actions for an extra clean pop.
The ten minutes was worth it, because I recorded Joe being Joe on a Sunday afternoon. That's the best part about pictures.
